Greensboro College competes in 16 intercollegiate sports and sponsors a coed cheerleading program. A member of NCAA Division III, The Pride is an active member of the USA South Athletic Conference (formerly DIAC) in 14 sports.

GC fields men's varsity teams in soccer, cross country, football, men's basketball, lacrosse, baseball, tennis and golf. The Pride currently fields women's teams in soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, swimming, tennis, softball and lacrosse.

Through the 2006-07 year, GC has produced 49 All-Americans, 15 Academic All-Americas, 45 conference championship teams, and have qualified for 51 NCAA tournaments.

Greensboro College captured its first national title in 2000 when The Pride men's golf team won the NCAA Division III men's golf championship. In addition, GC has been the runner-up twice in men's soccer (1989, 1998), and three times in men's golf (1988, 1997 and 2002).

The Pride has been an active and successful member on the national tournament scene. In men's soccer, Greensboro qualified for 12 of the past 13 NCAA tournaments--making it to at least the round of eight four times. In men's golf, Greensboro has been to the national tournament 26 times, finishing in the top 10 on 19 different occasions.

Its reputation as a strong and continually growing program is identified with the addition of football and softball to athletics during the past eight years. Since 1989, Greensboro has added eight sports to its repertoire and each has succeeded on both a conference and national scale.

In the 1998-99 athletic season, Greensboro College finished 34th--the highest in GC history--in the Sears Directors' Cup standings. The Athletic Director's Cup is the all sports championship among the 393 NCAA Division III schools. The Pride women finished first in the 2004-05 USA South President's Cup all-sport competition.
