Hanes Gymnasium is home to Greensboro College volleyball and to The Pride men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Built in the 1950s, the venue was named for James G. Hanes, he of the famous Hanes underwear company. Hanes Gym has hosted numerous NCAA and USA South Conference championship events.
The facility seats 800 and is known for it “old school” feel, proximity to the court and noise/atmosphere when filled. Most of the seats are behind the west end line.
The unique, brick-trimmed arena had recent enhancements, including a video message board, and the installation of a press row (both in 2005).
Directions: Hanes Gymnasium is located on the back side of Greensboro College (815 West Market Street, Greensboro, NC, 27401). The gym is easily accessible where McGee Street and Fulton Street meet.
