FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Following the conclusion of the 2004-2005 USA South competition, the standings for the Men's and Women's President's Cups have been determined. The 2004-2005 season is the first year that the USA South has presented a Men's and a Women's President's Cup as Greensboro College claimed the Women's President's Cup while Methodist College won the Men's President's Cup. Greensboro claimed two women's conference regular season championships and finished runner-up in four other conference races. This is the first year that Greensboro has won the President's Cup since it's inception during the 1978-1979 academic year. Methodist won four men's conference championships, including all three men's sports that the USA South sponsors in the spring. This marks the ninth time that Methodist has won the USA South President's Cup. The USA South Athletic Conference President's Cup symbolizes the league's top men's and women's athletic program each year. The President's Cup is awarded by a points system where the first place team in each sport will be awarded the number of points that corresponds to the number of schools that sponsor teams in that sport. The second place team receives one point less than the first place team and so on, down to one point for the last place team that competes.
