Pat Williams
|
Pat Williams was named
head men’s tennis coach at Greensboro College in 2001. He has led the GC
women's team since 1999-2000.
Williams directed the 2001 Pride women to a 17-3
overall record, the best in GC history. Under Williams' guidance, Marnie
Greenblatt became the first Pride women's player to qualify for the NCAA
Tournament in 2001.
A USPTR certified teaching professional,
Williams is the head pro at the Sedgefield Tennis Club in Greensboro.
A native North Carolinian, Williams was raised
in the Pinehurst area. He played four years of tennis and basketball at
Greensboro College. Williams was a captain on the basketball team as a
senior and won team awards in tennis, including Most Valuable Player in
1993.
Williams graduated from GC with a degree in Business
Administration and Economics. After graduation, he worked as an assistant
director of admissions at Greensboro College before committing to a tennis
career full-time.
Williams has two daughters, Madlyn and Mariah.
