Transportation around Greensboro just got hotter! Greensboro College along with the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Guilford College, Elon University Law School, Guildford County Community College and Bennett College have teamed up with the Greensboro Transit Authority to create the High Education Area Transit system. The new system nicknamed H.E.A.T. will allow traditional Greensboro College students FREE transportation around Greensboro. The buses will stop at all the Colleges and Universities in Greensboro along with stops at Friendly Center and Downtown Greensboro. Students can ride anywhere in Greensboro by switching buses at the J. Douglas Galyon Depot located downtown.
WHO CAN RIDE?
Traditional Greensboro College Students can ride the H.E.A.T. system for FREE! However, the H.E.A.T. system is open to the general public to ride for $1 per trip. Traditional students are defined as any student enrolled in 12 or more credit hours each semester.
HOW DO YOU RIDE?
Traditional Greensboro College students will swipe their Greensboro College student identification card as they board the bus.
WHERE WILL THE BUS PICK YOU UP AT GREENSBORO COLLEGE?
There are two stop locations on the Greensboro College campus. The main stop location is on the corner of West Market Street and College Place, located near the Welcome Center. The second stop is outside of the Inn at Greensboro College.
WHAT IF MY CARD DOES NOT WORK?
In the case that your card does not work, please visit the Information and Technology Offices located on second floor Main Building. You can call them at 272-7102 extension 354 or email them at infotech@gborocollege.edu.
