Precis Begins Saturday, August 23, 2008!
Arriving on Campus
Are you asking yourself, "What is Précis?" Let's begin by answering that question!

PRÉCIS\'pray-see\n: a concise summary of essential points, facts or statements; "in a nutshell"

Greensboro College's required orientation program, Precis, offers students a unique opportunity to find out all they need to know to have a successful transition into the Greensboro College community. Precis has been created so that students have the necessary transition time they need to adjust to the complexities of college living and learning.

Orientation officially begins on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. with a welcome session in the Gail Brower Huggins Memorial Auditorium. All students and their families are encouraged to have completed the move-in process and to attend this session.

Sunday begins with optional chapel services followed by brunch in Fowler Dinning Hall. Throughout the rest of the day students will be involved in a variety of orientation activities to help them as they transition into life at Greensboro College. During this time, Pride Leaders and Greensboro College faculty and staff lead activities, answer questions and help ease the anxieties often experienced in the first days of college. On Sunday afternoon, new students are also officially welcomed into the college community during New Student Convocation. During this ceremony, students will sign the College's honor and student conduct codes. Sunday evening, new students will enjoy a dinner hosted by President and Mrs. Williams at their home.

Throughout Precis, students take care of the logistical concerns to be ready to begin classes on Wednesday, August 27.
