There are many important skills that you will have the opportunity to develop through your employment as an Office of Student Activities Student Assistant. Several of these personal benefits will become essential in your preparation for future employment and life after graduation.


* You will develop knowledge of resources - people, places, and programs on campus which will not only be of personal interest but also of use when interacting with the public as well.
* You will develop valuable “people skills” through your interactions with the public-in person and on the phone.
* You will have the opportunity to demonstrate personal responsibility and attention to detail through the careful execution of office tasks.
* You will heighten your sense of campus involvement through your interactions with other members of the Greensboro College Community and efforts to further the goals of the Office of Student Activities.
* You will increase your capacity to develop the life-long skills needed to adapt to any environment, such as time-management and communication skills.

If you desire to be a Student Activities Student Assistant, you must:

1. Be a full-time, degree-seeking student at Greensboro College
2. Be awarded Federal Work Study (contact the Greensboro College Financial Office for eligibility)
3. Have a flexible schedule to accomodate (at least) 5 hours per week

If you meet the above criteria, contact the Office of Student Activities soon after establishing your Federal Work Study Award.
