Degree: B.A., B.S., B.B.A
Minor: Yes - Business
Other: Concentrations in Economics / Finance / Management / Marketing
Honoring the liberal arts foundation of the College, the Division of Business seeks to graduate students with a broad academic experience while promoting the understanding and application of progressive business thought. The Division is committed to serving the diverse needs of its students through a pursuit of continuous improvement and a fundamental commitment to excellence in teaching.
This major combines an emphasis on the study of economics as well as business administration. Students may elect one of four different fields of study in finance, economics, management or marketing. The introductory courses in the business program present a strong fundamental and theoretical approach. The business major is then ready to tackle the upper level courses, which often center around case studies and real life business situations. An important feature within the Division of Business is the internship program, which places students in area businesses related to their field of study their junior and senior years. Recent graduates have been hired in banks, as well as in brokerage, manufacturing and advertising firms.
